Answers to common questions about usage, billing and content.

What is Xuanlin Q&A?
Xuanlin Q&A is a Chinese metaphysics knowledge platform built on over 110,000 passages compiled from public classics and literature. It answers questions on Bazi, Liuyao, Qimen Dunjia, Fengshui and Yijing theory, and offers an OpenAI-compatible API.
Which languages are supported?
Ask in Chinese, English, German, Spanish, Japanese, Korean or Russian — answers follow your question's language.
Is web Q&A free?
Anonymous use is free with 5 queries per browser visitor per day. The network address is used only for a higher anti-abuse ceiling, so ordinary people on the same network no longer share one small quota. Registered users get ¥10 credit. Web Q&A is billed at ¥0.015/1K input and ¥0.06/1K output, capped at ¥0.3 for Standard or ¥0.6 for Deep. When the balance runs out, the account falls back to its own daily free quota. API calls are not web-capped.
How do I get an API key?
After signing in, create an API key under Developer Features in My Account. See the API docs for usage.
How do I top up? Is payment secure?
Top up securely via Stripe in My Account with major credit cards, minimum ¥10. Permissions restore automatically after payment.
What happens when my balance runs out?
Web Q&A falls back to the free daily quota, and API calls pause with an insufficient-balance notice. Everything restores after a top-up.
How accurate are the answers?
Answers are grounded in classical texts and later scholarship, with attention to sources, interpretive differences and the conditions behind each analysis. Retrieved excerpts are not displayed; relevant classical grounding is explained academically within the answer when needed.
How do multi-turn conversations and settings work?
Ask follow-ups directly on the home page; conversations are stored in your browser and can be exported or copied. Use ⚙ next to the input box to adjust retrieval depth and answer length.
What about copyrighted content?
Our content is compiled from publicly available sources. If you believe your work is included and you object, file a request on the Copyright & Takedown page and we will review it promptly.
Is my data private?
Chat history is stored in your browser and can be deleted anytime. To recover an answer after a refresh or brief connection loss, the latest request result is stored temporarily and deleted automatically within 24 hours. As described in the Privacy notice, the service records queries and usage together with visited pages, device category, referrer, network address and approximate IP-derived region for service delivery, billing, quotas, security and aggregate analysis. It does not request precise GPS location or use hidden device fingerprinting. Other details are automatically cleaned according to the configured retention period, 90 days by default, and are not publicly sold.
